CIA “Japan Cuisine and Culture Tour 2025″


CIA “Japan Cuisine and Culture Tour 2025″ was held again this year, bringing 12 CIA students studying Japanese cuisine to Japan.

CIA’s Japanese cuisine program is offered as an elective intensive concentration in the bachelor’s curriculum, and this tour is one of its mandatory programs, so the students were highly engaged wherever they visited, listening attentively and immersing themselves in various experiences.

We would like to thank the cooperation we received from many individuals involved in the food industry in Osaka, Nara, Kyoto, and Tokyo.

End of the 3rd Food Business Management Program

The third phase of the Food Management Program, which started in October last year, successfully ended on 3 March.

On the last day, after the session, a wrap-up party was held at the AOI GARDEN HALL in Toranomon to celebrate and welcome the graduates of the first and second terms of the course, where everyone got to know each other better.

Over the course of 9 sessions, a total of 24 participants from 17 companies received lectures from a total of nine instructors, including Mr. Hiroshi Kanno, Professor at Waseda University Business School, and Mr. Tadao Kikuchi, Representative Director of Royal Holdings Co., Ltd. Through lectures, group discussions, and presentations, participants completed the human resources development program.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to SIGMAXYZ Inc. for providing the venue, as well as to all other companies for their support.

2023 Second-Half Business Leaders Exchange Meeting Held

On November 16, 2023, we hosted the 2023 Second-Half Business Leaders Exchange Meeting at Akasaka Prince Classic House, as we did last year.

We were grateful to have 40 participants who took time out of their busy schedules to attend.

After an opening by Representative Director Chikaraishi, a toast from the Chairman of Yokohama Grand Intercontinental Hote was made. Then, attendees enjoyed a meal and networking opportunities.

While they had been enjoying the event, Secretary General Mabuchi presented a report on the Nutrition Education Seminar for Junior and Senior students, and explained about the future activities, along with slides.

In the last, speeches were given by several members, and the event ended successfully.

The 4th Food & Nutrition Education Seminar for Middle & High School Students Held

On Saturday, June 24th, 2023, the 4th Food & Nutrition Education Seminar, called “ Authentic sweets-omelet episode taught by a chef from Soul of Japan as a happiness delivering pastry chef” was held for Middle & High School Students at Murakamigakuen , Tokyo Yamate culinary school. We invited Mr. Yasumasa Takagi who is the owner chef at LE PTISSIER TAKAGI. The chefs gave lectures, omelet making demonstrations and the students practiced making omelet and did tastings of their own made.

The 3rd Food & Nutrition Education Seminar for Middle & High School Students Held

On Friday, April 28th, 2023, the 3rd Food & Nutrition Education Seminar, called ” Knowing, making and eating Japanese food- taught by chefs from Soul of Japan” was held for Middle & High School Students at Nitobe Bunka Gakuen school. We invited the 9th head of Sarashina Soba originator, Mr. Yosinori Horii and Ms. Hana Kawabe. The chefs gave lectures, soba making demonstrations, and tastings.

The 2nd Food & Nutrition Education Seminar for Middle & High School Students Held

On Saturday, November 5th, 2022, The 2nd Food & Nutrition Education Seminar, called “Cooking Energizing Meal !  taught by chefs from Soul of Japan – Fish version” was held for Middle & High School Students. The event was held at one of our corporate members, Fujimak Co., Ltd. in their Tokyo branch cooking laboratory.  On the day of the event, we invited Mr. Naoyuki Yanagihara who is the head chef of Kinsaryu way. The chef gave lectures, demonstrations, and tastings. The 10 participating junior high and high school students were then invited to participate in a group discussion, and each group was asked to make a presentation about SDG’s on a different theme.

Management Networking Party for the first semester of 2023 was held.

On June 22nd, we held the first half of the year 2023 Management Networking Party at Akasaka Prince Classic House as a place for corporate members to get to know each other and exchange business ideas.

The 1st party since the relaxation of COVID19 related restrictions started earlier than usual time.

We had a panel discussion lead by four chefs who worked as seminar teachers of “Food & Nutrition Education Seminar for Middle & High School Students” that educational event we started since last year. There we had 58 attendees, including 22 first-time attendees, and many corporate members participated the discussion.

After the opening speech by Mr. Chikaraishi, Representative Director of the Foundation explaining the history of establishment and main activities of the foundation,

the panel discussion of food and nutritional education for junior high and high school students,

followed by a toast by Mr. Tsutsumi who is the chairman of Inter-Continental Yokohama Grand and then time for dinner and chatting.

At latter half of the meeting, Executive Director Mabuchi gave a report of Activity Report of this year and Future Activities. The meeting was closed with remarks by Mr. Chikaraishi, the Representative Director.

On Saturday, September 10th, 2022, The 1st Food & Nutrition Education Seminar, called “Cooking Energizing Meal !  taught by chefs from Soul of Japan – Meat version” was held for  for Middle & High School Students. On the day of the event, we invited Mr. Kiyomi Mikuni who is the owner chef of  hotel de Mikuni, to be our lecturer. The chef gave lectures, demonstrations, and tastings. The 23 participating junior high and high school students were then invited to participate in a group discussion, and each group was asked to make a presentation about SDG’s on a different theme.

Management Networking Meeting for the first semester of 2022 was held.

Last year marked the 10th anniversary of the foundation, and we were able to hold a commemorative social event in November with the participation of over 90 of our members. We would like to thank all of our members again for their tremendous support and cooperation.

As in previous years, we held the first half of the year 2022 Management Networking Party at Akasaka Prince Classic House as a place for corporate members to get to know each other and exchange business ideas.

This time, the event started earlier than usual, and 47 of our corporate members joined us for a lecture by Mr. Tadao Kikuchi, Chairman and Representative Director of Royal Holdings Corporation, who serves on the Foundation’s Board of Directors, on the future of the restaurant industry as the Corona disaster is subsiding.

After the opening speech by Mr. Chikaraishi, Representative Director of the Foundation, Mr. Kikuchi gave a lecture, followed by a toast by Mr. Hiroyuki Suematsu, Advisor of the Foundation, and then time for dinner and chatting.

During the course of the meeting, Executive Director Mabuchi gave an introduction and explanation of nutrition education activities, after which several of our members spoke, and the meeting was closed with a great success. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all those who attended.

Happy New Year!

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and healthy New Year. I would also like to thank you for your continued warm support and cooperation. This year, we will continue to aim to be a platform for Japanese food culture, with our main activities being to pass it on to the next generation and to promote it overseas.
